In the Facebook group, I see a lot of talk of publishers and agents, so my question today... and where better to ask it then our new forum?... is does anyone else here actively self-publish?
Right now, I've published under three separate pen names in three totally different genres. Big mistake. I'm going to try to condense two of those pen names down to one before the end of the year.
My genres were:
Urban Fantasy / Paranormal Cozy Mystery
LitRPG
M/M Gay Romance
So anybody else out there on the same journey as me?
Hi Belinda,
I recently published a poetry ebook on KDP. That's the extent of my publishing right now. There is a plan to publish a collection of flash fiction as an ebook.
Srivalli: That's exciting. Once you get bitten by the self-pubbing bug it's kind of an addiction.
Right now, I'm gearing up to do a rapid release of 3 books one month apart. In order to do that (without failing miserably) I'm trying to write all three (at least in draft form) before I publish the first one.
Needless to say, I'm in a bit of a publishing withdrawal right now.
That's a lot of work for sure. Rapid release sounds like a good idea. Might boost overall sales that way.
3 books in one month?! Omg that sounds like a lot. Good luck!
Oh, no! Book one releases Aug 1, then book 2 Sept 1, etc. The idea is to stay on the hot new release list for a few months in a row. 3 in a month would be too aggressive for me, although there are authors who've done that.
I'm a fellow indie! My goal is to eventually set myself up on a rapid release schedule that involves publishing a book (whether a novel, a themed short story collection, or a poetry chapbook), every month or two. I also do some freelance writing and editing under the same umbrella.
Doing a rapid release is hard work. There's so much to do. I'm really glad I set my 'deadlines' far enough out. I just might make them yet.
Best of luck getting your schedule lined up. Word of warning, though, plan more time than you think it'll really take...
