Building mystery or suspense into a narrative is crucial as it keeps the audience invested, involved and gripped. It is often hard to slowly increase the pace until the big moment. I myself am guilty of speeding to the big reveal! How do you pace yourself to build tension?

I struggle with this so much. I think most of my tension is layered in after several rounds of edits. When I'm mostly sure I'm done adding twists, I can work on delaying those events. Then I read it out loud. Where my reading speeds up, the pacing in the story should too.
