Hey everyone!
The Writer's Workout is celebrating it's 6th anniversary soon, and we're super excited! I only joined as an intern for the Writer's Games back in 2017, but I've fallen in love with the community and stuck around ever since. I still remember that first Games where I got to read such an amazing range of stories, but I have to say my favorite memory was reading and critiquing entires from the Just This Once event during the 2017 Games. It really inspired me to think creatively about my own writing and see how much emotion can be drawn without character death. It's also why Just This Once is my favorite event (I vote for it every time during People's Choice when I can haha!)
We want to hear from you: what's your favorite memory from the Writer's Workout? And what's your favorite Event from the Writer's Games? Old or new, we want to know!
MEMORIES!! I also joined as an intern in 2017 (how has it been 3 years??). I still remember staying up until 1 am judging entries. Y'all the dedication!! I have made so many friends here...omg I will get teary-eyed. And don't get me started on all the amazing stories I have been lucky enough to read and how many of you I am envious of because of your writing skills.
On This Date and Bizarre Bazaar will probably always be my two favorite Events because they were in the first Games I participated in. I still love the story I wrote for On This Date and my story for Bizarre Bazaar got into the anthology!!
Oh also! We had to write for an Event as interns before Games started and to my horror the Event was It's Aliens. I am in no way a sci-fi writer. My story might as well have been a newspaper article LOL. But it did help me realize what I didn't want to write and made me a better writer.
Can't wait to read everyone's memories!
