Writer's block: dreaded by anyone who's written anything ever. Lacking inspiration is writer's block's cousin. It can be overwhelming to figure out how to help yourself when you're uninspired. I like to make lists of interesting topics so I have something to refer to when I'm blocked. What helps you?

I usually go outside and just start describing things. It seems simple but it usually gets me back on track even if the thing I am trying to write is not at all related.
I'm not saying that I give up, but I have to take a break from trying to write in hopes that inspiration will hit me more naturally. I find that the more I force myself to write, the more disappointed in the product I am. Sometimes a break is all I need to find what's really supposed to be said all along.
I understand that. I feel like sometimes breaks are the best things you can do
This problem has been hitting me especially hard right now, and I haven't completely solved it. I'm working on a longer piece right now, so I've been pushing through to write whatever scenes I can clearly see in my head. Sometimes what helps is to establish a habit of writing--being in the same place, at the same time, every day, trying to write, even without feeling inspired.
I like that your writing habit includes a space and time! I might try that. What are you writing right now?
Prompts can be really helpful for me. One of my creative writing teachers gave us a bunch of prompts that really helped me shape my characters, even if I ended up not including the prompt responses in my story. Some that I really liked were: have your character write a letter to someone, this time last year your main character was [blank], write a flashback scene, etc. I find prompts can help me feel really inspired with the story again.
Usually when writer's block hits, I (try to) accept that I'm not going to be getting any writing done for a little while. And staring at my screen (or notebook page) isn't going to help matters, either. So I step away from my desk and, depending on my mood either go for a walk, play music and just vibe/dance around, or play video games for a while. Basically anything that will get my mind off writing. Usually this helps gets the ideas churning again.
Reading ultimately helps me the most. It brings up ideas and makes me want to try new techniques I find in other stories.
I love that! Reading definitely gets my imagination flowing again too
