The Agency of A.I.
Or, A.I. and it’s relationship with Art This article features an interview from Riya Cyriac. She wanted to make it clear that the opinions she states in her interview are hers alone and have nothing to do with her workplace. Winter in Georgia is a light affair. You don’t need more than a sweater and a jacket to stay warm, but last winter was colder than usual. It brought snow in January. Not fluffy cotton tufts but hard icy pellets, crunching under boots like hail. That winte

Reading Sustainably
You know all about BookTok and its giant splash in the written world, especially when this trend totally took over the internet during COVID-19. The world needed the escapist nature of literature more than ever. TikTok inspired creators to share interesting books by encouraging an "underrated reads" tag on posts. This helped highlight more authors and some great popular books have come out of this discourse as a result. Additionally, small businesses are using the trend to m

Trying Neurodivergence on for Size
It seems that neurodivergence has been trending lately. Which is interesting because being neurodivergent isn’t exactly a new thing. But like many human dimensions that have existed for centuries, we didn’t always have a name for it. I don’t claim to be an expert on the history of the term, but a cursory internet search suggests the word “neurodivergent” has been around for only 15 or so years. Then in 2020, the coronavirus pandemic thrust the term into the limelight as iso

Fast Fashion Fiction: Why Your Words Matter
I can’t help but notice that I’ve gotten the same five books recommended to me since 2021, at the very height of my reading; those five books have made their rounds through every social media pipeline enough times to knock my head loose with how long I’ve watched them spin. While, yes, I jumped on the fantasy-romance trilogy bandwagon back then, my taste has evolved over time and I’ve created enough space to see that every new book popular in the eyes of the online public is

Back to Basics: Purpose & Theme
The more I look around the more I realize: everyone has something to say, and something they believe they have to do. In fact I would argue that we all strive to have a purpose one way or another: a grand meaning for which we lead our lives. We’re all living on a giant hunk of spinning rock after all, so why not make the most out of that, right? Nothing’s ever just what it seems, and if it was, well, life would be kind of boring. You can apply that same idea to stories, too.
