Indie Author Spotlight, Episode 25

Hello! Jennifer Martin here! I'm a budding short story writer and a new volunteer at The Writer's Workout as well as a recent graduate. I have been given the great honor of spreading the news of these wonderful authors by S.E. Reed, and I am grateful to be given the opportunity to meet new and interesting people in the literary community, like today's guest, Randie K. Berman.

As a novelist and short story writer, Randie writes poignantly about women's experience across land and time. Debuting with her first novel two years ago, a second not long after, and another in the works, Randie is proving to be a great inspiration in women's literature. Make sure to check out her website and socials, which are linked below, so you don't miss out on any of her work. I was very pleased with the opportunity to meet her. I know you will be too.

Hi Randie! Thanks so much for meeting with me today. Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I'm happily married and live in a beautiful, unspoiled part of New Jersey, where both my husband and I were raised. After graduating from law school, I entered private practice before joining a large international corporation, where I served as Senior Counsel and Vice President of Legal Affairs for many years until my desire to write could no longer be kept at bay, and I traded in my briefcase for a personal laptop and a life of storytelling. I spend most of my time with family and friends, immersed in nature and writing. No regrets.

Tell us about your writing style.

I write novels for all audiences. My genre is typically "Women's Fiction," which often explores issues of "female empowerment."

Tell us about a project you’re proud of and link it for everyone to see!

I've written two novels and am proud of both. "A Different Sky" https://a.co/d/aq4FbuL and "207 West End Avenue" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FJZMX92J.

Spill the tea, what are you currently working on?

I am working on a third novel about a strong-minded, female journalist.

What is your biggest/best piece of advice for other Indie Authors?

To have tough skin and keep pushing, even when you feel overwhelmed and aren't getting the results you want. Write because you love it, not because you expect to be famous.

Who is your favorite Indie Author?

I can't name just one. The following (in no particular order) are a few of my favorites: Joelle Tamraz, Evie Woods, Annamarie Delaney, Marilyn Simon Rothstein, Meryl Ain, Jennifer Lang, and Charlene Wexler.

Where can someone find your work, social presence, etc. drop some links.
